I first came across The May Birds a couple of years ago when the Uncle of Alice (vocals) handed us an early demo CD. We played it in the office and instantly fell in love.
Back then they were just a two-piece - Alice singing and Ella on guitar and vocals - but then expanded into a four piece by bringing in Camilla (piano) and Charlotte (cello). Over the last year or so they've played with the likes of Jesca Hoop, Smoke Fairies, Ben Howard, Sea of Bees and Big Deal, as well as playing at Great Escape and Beautiful Days festivals.
Their debut single - the double a-side release of 'Inside Out' and 'Wait For Me' is out now on iTunes, and the girls are set to head back into the studio soon to record the follow up single 'Beggar', which I cannot wait to hear and which I'll definitely be posting on here.
